No injuries reported, school placed on lockdown
The Harford County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspected shooting at Joppatowne High School in Maryland. The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 6, 2023, at approximately 10:30 AM.
According to the sheriff's office, a 911 call was received reporting shots fired inside the school. Deputies responded to the scene and placed the school on lockdown. All students and staff were evacuated from the building and accounted for.
A search of the school was conducted, but no evidence of a shooting was found. The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the incident and is working to determine if any shots were actually fired.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
Parents and guardians are asked to pick up their children at the designated reunification point, which is located at the Joppatowne Community Center.
