Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone Begin Previews for ‘The Roommate’ on Broadway
Broadway Revival of ‘The Roommate’
Previews began last week for the Broadway revival of “The Roommate,” a 1960 comedy by Brad Morris. Starting October 11, the show is set to run at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone Star
Mia Farrow has joined the production as Mrs. Mildred Savage, taking over for Jane Curtin, who appeared in the original 1960 production. Patti LuPone stars as the enigmatic Charlotte Wilkens.
Tony Awards
LuPone has been nominated for 14 Tony Awards, taking home two for “Evita” and “Gypsy.” She has received a total of 35 Tony nominations for both acting and as a producer.
Synopsis of ‘The Roommate’
Farrow and LuPone star in this suspenseful comedy about a wealthy New York City socialite (LuPone) who hires a new live-in companion (Farrow). However, the roommate has some deadly secrets that turn the socialite’s life upside down.
David Mamet Directs
Tony-winning playwright and director David Mamet directs “The Roommate.” He previously led the Broadway premieres of “Glengarry Glen Ross,” “Speed-the-Plow,” and “American Buffalo.”
Tickets on Sale
Tickets are currently on sale for “The Roommate.” The show is scheduled to run through January 8, 2023.
