Kenny Rogers, the Grammy-winning country music icon, has died at the age of 81.
Rogers, best known for his hit songs such as "The Gambler", "Lady", and "Islands in the Stream", passed away on March 20, 2020, in his home in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The cause of death was natural causes, according to a statement from his family.
Born Kenneth Donald Rogers in Houston, Texas, in 1938, Rogers began his music career in the late 1950s. He released his debut solo album in 1976 and went on to sell over 120 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Throughout his illustrious career, Rogers won numerous awards, including three Grammys, eight Country Music Awards, and two American Music Awards. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
