Pep Guardiola's Manchester City Beat Real Madrid In Champions League Semi-Final First Leg
Thrilling Match Ends 4-3 In Manchester's Favor
City Will Take A Slender Lead To The Bernabeu For The Second Leg
Manchester City secured a 4-3 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, giving them a slender lead heading into the second leg at the Bernabeu.
City took the lead after just 94 seconds through Kevin De Bruyne, but Real Madrid fought back to level through Karim Benzema in the 33rd minute.
Gabriel Jesus restored City's lead in the 11th minute, before Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva extended the advantage to 4-1 in the second half.
Real Madrid pulled two goals back through Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in the final minutes, but it was not enough to prevent City from taking a one-goal lead to Spain for the second leg next week.
The match was played at a frenetic pace, with both teams creating chances throughout.
City were the more clinical side, however, and they took their chances well.
Real Madrid will need to score at least twice in the second leg to have any chance of reaching the final.
The second leg will be played at the Bernabeu on Wednesday, May 4.
